Montessori of Califon is a small private Montessori school located in the quaint town of Califon in Central New Jersey. We have an 1800 square foot facility and a large fenced in play area. Our school is licensed with the State of New Jersey and our teachers are certified and experienced with young children. In addition to our preschool, pre-k and full-time Kindergarten, we provide aftercare for Kindergarten students from Califon and Lebanon Township School Districts.

We opened our doors in 2003 with an optimistic vision and only five children enrolled. Currently, our enrollment is twenty-eight and growing. As we grew, we adapted our programs to serve the community's increasing need for quality preschool and child care services. What has emerged from this evolution is an atmosphere of inspiration and exploration, on the part of both the staff and the children. Following the principles of the Montessori method, we have the utmost of respect for each child's individuality and needs.

Our classroom is equipped with specially selected learning and cultural activities, each of which is introduced precisely when a child is ready, and is thereafter freely available for the child to work with independently. The didactic materials develop the child's intellect through active exploration.
