What started as a Thursday night jam session in the barnyard of the family farm has now become The Hickory Grove Opry Farm. The storage barn is used 3 or 4 days a summer in tribute by Ellie and John Burd to honor The Burd Boys, one of New Jersey’s most popular country music bands in the ’60s and ’70s, and an important piece of New Jersey’s country music heritage.
Though the grove is still there, the shows are now hosted in the farm’s storage barn, which transforms into our own opry on the select summer dates. Our aim is to bring to you the best in today’s classic country music. We welcome people of all ages and cater to a family orientated atmosphere. With the motto “Y’all Come,” we hope that you will come out and join us for a great evenings entertainments.
